How do I get coached to become a Life Skills Coach for Kids?

Q. Who will be training me to start my own coaching business for kids?

A. Denise Honaker, will be your trainer. She created the Better & Brighter curriculum and has taught kids life skills for over 20 years. She has the experience of teaching hundreds of kids in public and private schools to picnic benches and mansions.

Q. How does the training work?

A. The training takes about 6 weeks. You will download all the lessons and will have an hour Zoom with Denise for each lesson. Each week you be given a lesson such as how to start a business, get clients, price workshops, teach the curriculum, and how to create a social media platform to build your brand.

Q. Do I need to be a teacher or have experience in teaching kids?

A. No, you don’t need any teaching experience. If you love kids and really want to make a difference in their lives, that’s all you need. In our Better & Brighter course, you will learn how to teach each lesson, from creating a class checklist to the timing and delivery of each lesson.

Q. Do the kids really listen and learn taking the workshops?

A. Our lessons are effective because they are interactive and fun for kids. We have found that kids learn better when they are involved and part of the lessons. After they have taken our ‘4 Lesson Pack Life Skills Workshop, the kids feel empowered and confident that they can walk into any social situation and say, “I got this.”

Q. What lessons are in the 4 pack Life Skills Workshop?

A. The lessons you will be trained to teach are, Dining etiquette, Restaurant manners, Social Play with friends and party manners and Respecting those around us.

Q. Shouldn’t parents be teaching their kids all these social skills?

A. The many parents we talk with are doing their best, but after a long day of working and chauffeuring their kids to all the activities, teaching their kids social skills is not top on their list. Also, we have found when other people coach their kids and when their peers are learning the same way, they listen and learn better.

Q. Can I make money with a coaching business for kids?

A. Yes! This is what is so wonderful, you get to make money while you are helping kids become more confident and happier. Denise will explain all the ways you can create a profitable business with coaching.

Q. I have never started a business, how will I know what to do first?

A. Denise will walk you through all of the things you need to do to start your business. Here are some of the topics:

• Business License

• Domain-Securing your business name

• Marketing-social media

• Websites

• Pricing all of workshops for profit

• Costs for teaching workshops

• How to write great letters to potential clients

Q. Will I get trained to teach, or will I just have to follow words on a training manual?

A. You will be trained on every class lesson and scenario of the Better & Brighter curriculum. We want you to be comfortable and confident with the lessons, so we go over every detail with you from making your lesson plans to teaching a fun and engaging class.

Q. What happens after I take the training, am I just left out on my own to start my business?

A. One of the wonderful things about joining our Better & Brighter community, is there will always be someone here for you. You will have access to our private Facebook group, where you can share with other coaches successes and advice on building your brand and business. You will also have access to future amazing curriculum to add to your business. You will never be on your own.
